2020 marked a momentous year as Royal Caribbean International doubled down on its commitment to environmental safety by announcing its new waste reduction initiative, the Win on Waste (WOW). Our company set out on an ambitious five-year goal to reduce food waste by 50% across all foodservice venues and private islands, which equates to a $40 million cost savings. It’s a goal that requires a significant culture change as well as the development of sophisticated systems and technology.
